If you are unsure about what do do regarding practice insurance, let me try to make it easier to understand. USSSA does not force teams to buy practice insurance, but has the best value in the industry. It's $ 79 / team which includes 15 players and 2 coaches.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Why do teams participate in youth basketball:
As coaches, parents, administrators, we look to youth basketball for insurance for our club teams to practice and play, for opportunity to play in events, to challenge to qualify to play in a national tournament. USSSA believes in running high quality events which focus on consistency with good communication and easy to navigate events.
USSSA is the only youth group that registers teams ( $25 ) and not individual players...Sign your team up (click here to do it on-line ) or email billh4@comcast.net with your team name and specifics, Age Group, Gender, mailing address, phone, email and we'll set you up and forward your password to the site...You can then forward the check by mail.
You do not need to buy the USSSA insurance to play at USSSA States or other sanctioned events. Team insurance is a $79 team fee which provides for 15 players and 2 coaches. You may change the roster's players and the insurance is still good. It goes with the team.
National tournaments: Teams look forward to national tournaments for different reasons. For young players, teams look toward the experience of traveling, interacting with other players from all over the country , having fun and having the opportunity to play against some of the best in the country at a given age.
For High School players entering their recruiting years, exposure and higher level play at a national tournament is essential. Players are able see where they fit as they compete and colleges are able to recruit at the events and to evaluate with good players competing.

The USSSA nationals format: Pool play to double elimination. All teams will play a minimum of 5 games in a 4 day period.
Three divisions: USSSA was the first to offer 3 divisions of play. Division I for elite/all star teams and Division II for competitve or school based teams. Division III has been added for 2996. Division III is community based recreational teams
State Programs: We will work to build a steering committee to develop a state program. With the USSSA ranking system, teams garner points for participation and winning. A series of events and leagues will be developed.
Leagues and Tournaments: Do you currently run a league or invitational. We are interested in talking with you if you run a league or tournaments and may want the benefit of being associated with the USSSA. Give us a call or email to discuss further...
Meetings: We will be setting up informational meetings to promote the program and to meet with interested parties. Feel free to contact me if you have a meeting place and would like to help organize a meeting or would like to get involved with state or local activities
